The Tenonator blade is made of top quality German made micro grain carbide steel, the best steel available for any wood working tool. With two cutting edges the Tenonator blade can be reversed after becoming dull. With the low price of a new Tenonator blade it is not feasible to have it professionally sharpened. It is possible to use a diamond hone for light sharpening of the blade.

We do not like giving estimates on how many tenons may be produced with the Tenonator before the blade becomes dull. There are many variables that can determine the number of tenons that can be produced before replacement of the blade is required.
Log stock conditions that are hard, dry, dense, tight grained, dirty or knotty determine blade life. Log diameter and size of tenon being produced are also factors in the life of the blade.
